Rachel Bright

Trained in graphics at Kingston University followed by a Masters Degree in Printmaking, Rachel's striking illustrative and typographical style, coupled with her witty storytelling, has resulted in an award-winning collection of acclaimed picture books.

Published by HarperCollins, Puffin, Orchard, Walker and FSG, Rachel's books have been translated into 38 languages and counting. Her most famous creation to date is her Love Monster series, a No.1 best-seller in the USA and currently being made into an animated series for BBC.

Rachel has collaborated with several wonderful illustrators, most notably Jim Field on the bestselling series; The Lion Inside, The Koala Who Could, The Squirrels Who Squabbled and The Way Home for Wolf.

Rachel was selected as World Book Day illustrator for the UK in 2013 and as writer for the Carmelite Prize in 2016. A professional optimist, Rachel is also the creative genius behind 'the bright side', a multi-million-selling stationery and gift brand that celebrates the art of positive thinking.

Recent titles include Just a Minute Mama Bear (Farrar Straus & Giroux) and The Way Home for Wolf (Orchard).

Rachel lives in Dorset with her family and numerous animals.
