A recent graduate of the MA in Children’s Illustration at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, Adam was also the winner of the SCBWI 2018 ‘Beginning, Middle and End’ competition and runner up for the Searle Award for Creativity 2019.
Whilst a relative newcomer to the world of children’s books, he is by no means new to storytelling as he is an established and successful storyboard artist in animation, TV, games and design. Clients include Aardman, BBC, Netflix, Sony, Nickelodeon and Disney and recent work includes storyboards for the acclaimed new adaptation of Watership Down for BBC/ Netflix and ‘The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance’ for Netflix and The Jim Henson Company (a bit of a dream come true as he’s a massive fan of Jim Henson!)
Never without a sketchbook, as he loves to draw from life, Adam has now turned his very talented hand to writing and illustrating for children. He combines a real understanding of pace, rhythm and layout with fabulous characterisation, energetic line, warmth and humour. His debut picture book will be published by Simon & Schuster UK and will be swiftly followed by his first author-illustrated picture book. Adam is based in London.
