Trained in graphics at Kingston University, followed by a Masters Degree in Printmaking at Bristol UWE, Rachel's striking illustrative and typographical style, coupled with her witty storytelling, has resulted in an award-winning and ever-growing collection of acclaimed picture books.
Published by HarperCollins, Puffin, Orchard and Walker, Rachel's books have been translated into 18 languages, and counting. Her most famous creation to date is her Love Monster series, a No.1 best-seller in the USA and currently under option for TV animation.
Rachel has so many stories popping into her head that she couldn't possibly illustrate them all. She has collaborated with several wonderful illustrators, most notably Jim Field on the bestselling and prize-winning series of picture books; The Lion Inside, The Koala Who Could, The Squirrels Who Squabbled and, coming in 2018, The Way Home for Wolf.
Rachel was selected as World Book Day illustrator for the UK in 2013 and as writer for the Carmelite Prize in 2016. A professional optimist, Rachel is also the creative genius behind 'the bright side', a multi-million-selling stationery and gift brand that celebrates the art of positive thinking.
Recent titles include All I Want for Christmas and Amazing Daddy (Orchard).
Rachel lives in Dorset with her family and numerous animals.
