Sarah has always loved words. She worked as a lawyer in the City with dry serious words for several years, but after a while the lure of sparkling story-words tempted her away to do an MA in Writing for Young People at Bath Spa University. She graduated with Distinction. Subsequently Sarah's debut YA novel, The Night Sky in my Head, was published alongside her first picture book.
Originally from Lincolnshire, Sarah lives in Chicago and writes fiction for young adults and younger readers inspired by her love of nature, travelling and secret unseen worlds that weave through ordinary life.
The Night Sky in My Head was shortlisted for a number of awards: Calderdale Children's Book of the Year Award, James Reckitt Hull Children's Book Award, the Leeds Book Award and the Angus Book Award.
