Helen began her writing career as a copywriter, working for a diverse range of clients that included The Economist, BMW, Tesco and Oxfam. After more than twenty years crafting copy for other people, she turned her very talented hand to creating her own stories.
She has always loved rhyme and further inspired by the joy of sharing the ‘romp-along’ magic of Dr Seuss and Julia Donaldson with her own children, she finds that many of her own stories appear in verse.
Her first picture books were published in 2014, The Witch with an Itch, by Penguin Random House and Rudey’s Windy Christmas by Harper Collins.
Other Recent titles include: Giant Jelly Jaws and the Pirates (Harper Collins) and The Witch With an Itch: Dragons vs Dinosaurs (Penguin Random House).
Helen lives with her family at the foot of the South Downs, near Brighton, where she can be found writing new stories at her kitchen table.
